The Ford Thunderbird was manufactured by the Ford Motor Company from 1955 to 2005. The first-generation Thunderbird was produced as a response to Chevrolet’s Corvette and featured a two-seater body style with a V-8 engine. In 1958, the two-seater body style was replaced with a larger four-seat model. Throughout the years, the Thunderbird changed from a sports car to a luxury vehicle and went through eight generations of design changes before it was discontinued in 2005.
