The Chevrolet Bowtie logo, designed in the early 1900s, was inspired by William Durant’s wallpaper. He had noticed similar design elements in a French hotel that he and his wife had stayed at on their honeymoon.
Chevrolet’s founder General Motors decided to use the same basic idea on its vehicles. The original logo featured a black bowtie with sharp angles, but over the years it has been updated to adjust to modern trends while maintaining its classic design.
